The District has worked on obtaining easements for the Wadesville Water Project. The District is asking potential customers to sign a commitment User Agreement saying that they would be willing to take water for five years. The District was awarded our financing by the Rural Utility Service at the end of December 2009. The District continues to call people trying to set up times to meet with them for the needed signatures. Any help that you can give us would be greatly appreciated.
The District is now collecting the $100.00 tap fee required for each person who has signed a User's Agreement. This needs to be paid by August 1, 2010. The District will be sending out letters asking for the payment. The District needs to be quickly completing the easement acquisition so we can move toward construction. The District has filed with the WV Public Service Commission for the tariff to allow for the rates needed. Because of their 225 day time period to review the case, construction is now expected to start in the spring.

Tank Painting- It has come to the attention of the District that there are flyers being distributed asking questions about this work. It should be noted that lead in tank painting was outlawed in 1978. The Homewood Road water tank was built in 1984. A pretest of the tank showed that there were no lead problems. Additionally, the contractor has installed a containment system to keep the blasting materials on site. It is anticipated that the time to paint the Homewood Road tank will be between 2-4 weeks. Thanks for your consideration during this time period. The New England Ridge tank will be painted later this summer.
